Update News
for November 2006
Here is a quick run-down on what you will find in this bulletin:
These topics will be dealt with in more detail throughout this bulletin.
Compulife incorporated in Canada in October 1982. That means we are entering our 25th year in business. We are entering into our 20th year in the U.S.
We note this to first and foremost express our thanks to our loyal subscribers (thousands of subscribers) many of whom have been with us for a majority of that time. It goes without saying that we could not have done it without you. Many, many thanks.
We also note it to underline our longstanding commitment to this marketplace - a commitment that has never changed and a commitment that is as great today as it has ever been. A second generation (our son-in-law Jeremiah Kuhn) is now involved in the business, and a third generation just arrived in October. Abigail Kuhn (born October 3, 2006) will need the fruits of her dad's labor in order to have the best opportunities in her life.
Two things are true about companies that have been around this long - they are either resting on their laurels or they are continuing to push forward aggressively. I think it is clear that the latter applies to Compulife.
Here are just three recent examples:
We have recently rolled out a Forms Library which introduces an innovative web library / local library system for automatically storing forms on your own computer - making retrieval fast and easy - regardless of web connection problems.
We have introduced QuickerQuoter for agencies, giving agencies our comparison technology (including PDA technology) which they can turn around and provide to their agents for FREE.
Once again, I draw this to your attention to underline that Compulife appreciates your business and we will continue to EARN your business, by improving and expanding our product offerings.
Compulife has rolled out QuickerQuoter software for insurance agencies.
QuickerQuoter is a Compulife-like comparison software program, containing only the companies that you want, that your agency can purchase and provide FREE to your brokers.
Click Here for more information on QuickerQuoter. The web page contains a FREE sample of QuickerQuoter.
NOTE: The products and companies included in the FREE samples of QuickerQuoter are up-to-date and current. The companies we have selected are those companies which have been kind enough to provide Compulife with their forms for our Forms Library. If you are a life company, and would like to be added to list of companies, please call Bob Barney at (888) 798-3488.
IMPORTANT: FREE software for your brokers.
Translation: If you don't give this software to your brokers for FREE, then maybe your brokers will get it from your competitors for FREE. And then your brokers will be quoting the companies that your competitors want them to quote, instead of the ones that you want them to quote.
We have stressed the fact that agencies who act sooner, rather than later, will be the agencies to benefit the most. To date 6 agencies (one in Canada) have acquired the QuickerQuoter product and through the next few months, I suspect their agents will be getting and using that software.
Before you say, "But we already have quoting software for our brokers for FREE", please pay attention to the fact that this software includes FREE PDA software. If you don't think PDA software is important, read some of the following testimonies that Compulife has received from subscribers using insurance comparisons on their PDA:
And before you say that you don't think your agents are using PDA's, let me assure you that you are probably wrong. More and more are buying Palm Treo phones. Those phones ARE PDA's and they can run QuickerQuoter. Do you want to be the one pointing that out to your agent, or do you want your competitor pointing it out? And if the agent doesn't have a PDA, do you think they might want one if they can buy it for only $69 U.S.?
This QuickerQuoter Offer may be for a limited time only. I make the point to warn you that you might find your competitors having access to this software but you may not be able to get it in the future. In other words, you snooze you lose. And if you do act immediately, we will give you a Special Guarantee that you will want to read about - KEEP READING.
In making this offer Compulife is concerned about how it might impact our existing retail business to agents. Some agents may elect to use your FREE QuickerQuoter software rather than pay for our software - and that's not good for us. However, some agents that you give FREE software to may want the full Compulife package - and that's good for us. By the way, if your agent does want the bigger, better Compulife, that's more good news for you. Compulife typically charges an agent $149 per year for our entire program, but if you purchase the program for an agent you can get it for $99 providing that you are buying QuickerQuoter. Call for more details.
The point is this: if Compulife determines that the QuickerQuoter program for agencies is having a net negative impact on our gross revenue, Compulife will discontinue the QuickerQuoter program without notice.
But that's where our Special Guarantee kicks in, and it's exactly why you need to act NOW. Compulife guarantees that if we discontinue QuickerQuoter to new buyers, we will continue to offer QuickerQuoter to existing buyers for a total of 36 more months. Whether we continue to offer the software or not, YOU WILL HAVE IT - GUARANTEED!
Therefore, buying QuickerQuoter for your brokers now, is your guarantee to be able to buy it for 36 more months even if we no longer offer it to new buyers.
At the end of 36 months we have a further guarantee to buy the agent version of Compulife at a deeper than normal special discount. Call Bob Barney at (888) 798-3488 for details. The special discount will only be available to you IF we discontinue the QuickerQuoter program providing that you were a customer of QuickerQuoter at that time.
No matter how you look at it, getting on board with QuickerQuoter for your agents means you are getting a guarantee for software products, software services and software prices that you can't get if you don't buy QuickerQuoter.
We are not kidding, this offer could vanish at any time without any notice.
To repeat - you snooze you lose. And there is no sympathy for those who say, "But I didn't see it in the bulletin". If that's true, you weren't snoozing you were sleeping.
Compulife has just lowered our retail prices on used Palm PDAs. You can check out the new prices at:
Right now we have a good stock of these units and will maintain that stock until December. At that point we will begin listing the units on ebay. I should point out that based upon our current pricing, and the condition of these units, we are already at prices that these units trade for on ebay. If you haven't bought one now would be a good time to do so. You might find a slightly cheaper deal on ebay, but not backed up by our 90 day warranty, which is the same warranty given by Palm on new units. And there isn't anything in these Palms we can't fix (except a broken LCD panel). We have a solid stock of parts and quick turn around.
How can you not have Compulife in your pocket when you can do so for well under $100? And the software is FREE with your subscription.
The following offer is available to Compulife subscribers who are "paid" subscribers. This means that those who have obtained a FREE subscription through the "Dare to Compare" challenge may not take advantage of this special deal.
You can order a Palm from Compulife and you do not have to pay for 30 days.
MORE IMPORTANT: If you wish to return the equipment at the end of 30 days, you will receive a full credit including the original shipping charge.
If you don't believe us when we say that the Palm is a great prospecting tool, this is your chance to find out. Get the Palm and carry it with you for 30 days. If it is of no use to you just return it for a full credit.
CONDITIONS:
1. You are responsible for the cost of returning the PDA and/or accessories.
2. The Palm LCD screen must not be "broken". In other words, don't drop the Palm and make sure you pack it carefully when you return it.
3. This offer is subject to availability of Palms. Currently we have only about 125 units in stock and so this offer will be based upon first come, first served.
Has "prospecting" become a dirty word in the life insurance industry? I have personally spoken to some subscribers about our FREE PDA Insurance Quote buttons and the response has been, "I don't like to talk about insurance outside the office."
What?
Folks this is simple. You put on the button and carry your PDA with you. The idea is that you don't talk about insurance, you get asked about insurance. The following pin is FREE to any subscriber who asks for it:
Once again, the button is FREE to Compulife subscribers. Call to request your FREE button (800) 798-3488.
The pin comes with a money back guarantee. If it doesn't work we'll take it back for a full refund; just kidding; it's FREE!
To date the following companies are available in our U.S. software:
Banner Life Insurance
Jefferson Pilot Life
Jefferson Pilot Life (NY)
Pruco Life Insurance
Pruco Life Insurance of New Jersey
Reliastar Life Insurance Company
Reliastar Life Insurance Company of NY
William Penn Life Insurance
Unfortunately we still have not had ONE life insurance company in Canada take advantage of the opportunity to have Compulife provide their forms to our subscribers. It's not a surprise actually, many Canadian life companies tend to lag behind the U.S. companies when it comes to taking advantage of marketing opportunities. For example, I hear from some brokers that Canadian life companies are less inclined to accept business solicited through the internet and underwritten by phone.
If you help us convince a life company to provide us with their forms, we'll give you a Palm Zire 31 PDA as our way of saying thanks. Canadian subscribers who help us successfully add a Canadian company to the forms library, will received a FREE year of Compulife to go with that Palm PDA (based upon a personal use subscription; 6 months for an agency subscriber).
One of the projects we have been attempting to accomplish for quite some time is a historical CD which contains past copies of Compulife. Jeremiah has undertaken the task and has now managed to install, zip and archive copies of Compulife going back well over a decade. The month by month archived files can be transferred to a single CD. The history covers almost every month from the current month back to:
We are offering either CD to current Compulife subscribers for $99. Life insurance companies, who provide us with their forms, can purchase either CD for $49.
You will find this CD particularly useful in servicing existing clients. Life companies will find it helpful to plot trends in pricings. It will also prove helpful for those dealing with the media.
Compulife will now turn its attention to adding a single company and product look up function to the bottom of the PDA screen. Instead of just a "compare now" button, there will be a second button called "quote product". The left rocker button will choose that option.
When you click on "quote product" a list of companies will appear. When you locate and click on the company that you want, a list of the products for that company will appear. When you click on the product, the single product display will appear. This will be the same screen that appears when you click on a product in the comparison results.
Once that is working we will enhance the single product display to give you more information about the individual product. You will be able to view all the modal premium options, the various health categories/premiums, etc.
For those who update by Internet, Compulife has gone to great lengths to provide you with redundancy in our web sites. Our main web site is:
However, we keep a total of four completely separate web sites, on three more completely different servers, at:
Whatever we update to compulife.com, we are also updating to compulife.ca, compulife.us and compulife.cc. If one web site goes down, for whatever reason, either of the other three are ready to serve you.
For those doing monthly updates by Internet, we rely on three other web sites to supply monthly updates. These are automatically checked and used by our automatic Internet update software.
We plan to post the December 2006 Internet monthly update to our seven monthly update web sites on Thursday, November 30th.
The disk update will be processed Thursday, November 30th and the disks will be shipped on that day. You should have the disk update by Monday, December 4th. That disk update will be the last one offered on diskettes. After that, subscribers must obtain monthly updates by Internet.
Those receiving updates by disks must switch over to Internet updates by the end of December 2006. Disk service will not be offered for January 2007 and following.
We would encourage you not to wait until December 2006 to make this change. Not only will you eliminate the expense and hassle of returning disks, it costs less to get updates by Internet.
To switch to Internet monthly updates, go to our web page www.compulife.com and select the second menu choice "Application/License Agreements" Under the section "Application / License Agreements" you will need to select and complete a new License Agreement for the type of license that you have. Indicate on the application form, under "payment option", that this is a "CHANGE". After you have printed the new application agreement, please read it, especially the part where you agree that you have successfully downloaded and processed our "mid-month updates". If you haven't done that before, call us and we'll be happy to step you through the procedure. It's easy.
